When Pieter M. Duys founded the company in 1960, he set out to build a business based on his core values of integrity and a commitment to the highest order of engineering excellence, quality and service. It is these values that continue to guide the business today.
Since then, the Duys Engineering Group has grown on the back of South Africa’s economy to become a pioneering engineering company.
From the initial phase specialising only in equipment engineering and sheet metal work, Duys was soon to expand to cover the automotive and aluminium smelter industries. In years to come, Duys became more involved in significant large engineering projects undertaken for sugar mills, petrochemical plants, primary and secondary aluminium producers, harbours, pulp, paper, timber treatments and the mining industries.
